Book, Any ole book
Patron: “I’m looking for a good book.”
Library worker: “What genre do you like to read?”
Patron: “I don’t know.”
Library worker: “What are some of your favorite books?”
Patron: “I don’t know.”
Library worker: “Would you like a mystery, a romance, fantasy?”
Patron: “I don’t know.”
Library worker: “I’m not sure what you’d like.”
Patron: “Just give me anything. I like anything.”
today a man came to the library and tried to give me like a home electro-therapy kit??? idk he said his doctor gave it to him and he never used it so he wanted to know if i or the girl i was working the check-out desk with could use it. then he wouldn’t take it back so we just put it behind the desk and laughed hysterically as soon as he left.
also a woman was paying a fine and she said, “you don’t mind if it’s a canadian nickel, do you?”
and i thought she was joking so i just laughed but then she didn’t take it back and i said, “we’d prefer a u.s. nickel if you can.”
and she said, “i think the canadian nickel is worth more than the u.s. nickel right now. you’d actually be making money.”
but i said no again and she gave me a u.s. nickel.

I HAVE A JOB.
it’s just part-time at a public library, but it gets my foot in the door for if something full-time opens up in the system. :D
i’m still going to be looking for a second part-time job to keep until something full-time happens, but you know. SOMEONE HIRED ME TO DO THINGS.
aaaaaaaaaaand there is currently a little boy in here wearing a sparkly red dress over blue sweatpants. best way to end my last day of working at this library. you go, kid.
cleaning out my desk and found the pictures from that time i found a polaroid camera with two shots left.
today is my last day working at this library and aaaaw they got me flowers!

omg this is so cool, librarians who order graphic novels for libraries are my personal heroes!
it’s been so much fun! i had to scream and cry and beg for a year before our manager let me start a gn collection for our library, and i’m so glad she gave in. the hardest part of quitting here and moving to atlanta is actually leaving this collection behind. i’m worried no one will keep it growing after i leave.
the paperbacks from my final huge graphic novels order before leaving for atlanta. this doesn’t include all the hardbacks since i don’t catalog those. and i also pre-ordered a ton of stuff. asjfjdjsjjdk
